Bobby Kimball is an American singer and songwriter, best knwn as the lead vocalist of the rock band Toto. He has also worked as a solo artist and session musician.

Kimball was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, United States. He began his musical career in the 1960s as a member of the psychedelic rock band The New Invaders. The group released one album, New Invader (1967), befre disbanding.

In 1976, Kimball joined Toto after the departure of original lead singer Bobby Caldwell. With Toto, Kimball sang lead vocals on such hits as “Hold the Line”, “Rosanna”, and “Africa”. He remained with the band until 1988, when he left to pursue a solo career.

During his solo years, Kimball released four albums: Rise Up (1989), We’re Not in Kansas Anymore (1992), All I Ever Needed (1996), and Better Days (2000). He has also appeared as a guest vocalist on albums by oter artists, including Ringo Starr’s Vertical Man (1998) and Steve Lukather’s Ever Changing Times (2008).

In 2010, Kimball rejoined Toto for their reunion tour. The band continues to tour and record with him to this day.
