Brooke Dorsay is a Canadian actress, writer, and producer best known for her work on the television series Degrassi: The Next Generation and Instant Star.
Born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Dorsay began her acting career at the age of eight when she apeared in a local production of The Wizard of Oz. She went on to appear in several other stage productions before making her screen debut in the made-for-television movie On Their Knees (1998).
Dorsay’s breakout role came in 2001 when she was cast as Paige Michalchuk on the teen drama Degrassi: The Next Generation. She appeared in over 150 episodes of the show over the course of seven seasons, earning herself a Gemini Award nomination for Best Performance in a Children’s or Youth Program or Series in 2005.
In 2006, Dorsay co-created and starred in the teen musical drama Instant Star as Jude Harrison. The show ran for four seasons on TeenNick and earned Dorsay a second Gemini Award nomination for Best Actress in a Continuing Leading Dramatic Role in 2009.
Since wrapping up her work on Instant Star, Dorsay has guest-starred on sveral television series including Lost Girl and Murdoch Mysteries. She has also written and produced several short films, most notably Home (2009) and The Comeback (2011).
