Adding a hyperlink in Gmail can be a handy way to direct recipients to specific web pages or resources. Whether you’re sending important information or simply sharing interesting content, including a hyperlink in your email can make it more interactive and engaging.
Accessing your Gmail Account
First and foremost, you’ll need to access your Gmail account by visiting the Gmail website and signing in using your credentials. Once you’re logged in, you can proceed to compose a new email.
Composing a New Email
To compose a new email, locate and click on the “Compose” button within your Gmail dashboard. This action will open a new email window where you can start drafting your message.
Inserting Text in the Email Body
After accessing the email composition window, proceed to type your text. Highlight the specific portion of text where you want to insert the hyperlink. This could be a word, a phrase, or even a sentence.

After entering the URL, click on the “OK” button to apply the hyperlink to the selected text. You should see the text change appearance slightly, indicating that it is now a clickable link within your email.
Testing the Hyperlink
Before sending your email, it’s always a good idea to test the hyperlink to ensure that it directs to the correct webpage. You can do this by clicking on the linked text within the email to open the associated webpage in a new tab.
Sending the Email
Once you have verified that the hyperlink works as intended, you can proceed to add any additional content to your email and address it to the recipient(s). When you’re satisfied with the email, hit the “Send” button to deliver it.
